Touted to be the first archaeological park in Malaysia, Sia Boey Urban Archaeological Park is well-known amongst the locals for its long and interesting history. This park is located around 20 km away from Lexis Suites Penang, around a 26 minutes’ drive. This park was completed in 2019 in an effort to preserve the building that used to house the Sia Boey Market, as well as to transform the area into a patch of green lung that facilitates the coexistence of development and heritage conservation.

The main star of the Sia Boey Urban Archaeological Park is the Prangin Canal, a monsoon drain that has now been cleaned up and beautify to now be teeming with a variety of colourful koi fish. There is also a town square landscaped with tall trees and lush green grass, as well as a modern children’s playground, making the park a perfect spot for an afternoon stroll and take plenty of beautiful pictures with your family.
