KAILAS Penang Skyrace 2026 marks Malaysia’s third consecutive year on the Merrell Skyrunner World Series, taking place from 24–26 April 2026 in George Town as part of both the global circuit and the Asia Trail Master Championship Series. The race is jointly organised by MMTF Consultant, Mountain Goat Malaysia, and Penang International Hiker’s, and is expected to host 2,000 participants including top international skyrunners.

Competitors can choose from four distances — the 5KM Fun Sky, 10KM Short Sky, 30KM Pro Sky, and the demanding 50KM Sky Ultraks, with the latter contributing to Asia Trail Master points and the 30KM again featured in the Skyrunner World Series. The routes traverse Penang’s lush UNESCO World Heritage landscapes, including Penang Hill and Western Hill, presenting steep climbs, tropical forest trails, and sweeping views.

With its renowned food culture, diverse heritage, and convenient accessibility, Penang offers a fitting backdrop for this global event, which upholds inclusivity through generous cut-off times.
